Ask LL

Feel free to ask questions about writerly life, writing topics, my books, etc. If I can answer it quickly, I’ll answer it on this page.

If I feel it merits a big answer, I’ll plunk it into a blog post and reply with the link to the post!

You can ask about me too, but if the questions get inappropriate, I won’t answer. And I’ll have to delete the questions.

Thanks!

  1. What is your favorite genre to read, and who is your favorite author?
Do you find yourself analyzing as you read – you know, finding techniques you want to try or things you absolutely do not want to happen in your writing?
I never used to analyze when reading, but now that I’m writing too, I just can’t help it!

    • I love reading science fiction, fantasy, or even urban fantasy. I love Chuck Palahniuk’s writing. I’ve enjoyed all the ones I’ve read.

I try not to analyze while I’m reading, but I can’t help it. Most of the time I just end up seeing where the plot is going. There have been times that I’ve found techniques that I want to try and there have definitely been times that I’ve found things that I absolutely do not want to happen in my writing!

I end up analyzing more when I’m watching movies! Writing a lot has made me be able to see plot twists much easier, which can ruin watching movies. I figured most of Inception out while we watched it at the theatre..still enjoyed the movie though!

  2. love your straight mind and martial arts which can have a good training in body and mind.Keep on your writing book and art work. Good to share with us.
