Introducing: Unfading Daydream

Unfading Daydream is a literary magazine that strives to feature the genres that inspired us to start writing (science fiction, fantasy, horror, etc.). We want to showcase stories of all types – from romantic, to platonic – and especially ones featuring LGBTQ+ themes. Unfading Daydream will be published on a quarterly basis.

Unfading Daydream is a venture that Adelei Wade and I are taking on. We want to find a way to feature writers – both experienced and inexperienced – who write in the genres we love (sci-fi, fantasy, horror, etc). Genre fiction doesn’t always get the love in the publishing world that literary fiction does…yet there are plenty of amazing stories out there. We want to find those stories.

That’s where you guys come in~

We’re just about to open our first submission period! This means you’d have the opportunity to be published in the first issue of Unfading Daydream.

Basic Details:

  • We are open to established and new, emerging authors.
  • In terms of length, we’re looking for stories between 1000 and 7000 words. Shorter or longer stories will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • No previously published works.
  • No fanfiction, please
  • Reading periods are MayAugustNovember, and February.
  • All submissions must be in by 11:59pm CST on the last day of the reading period. In this case, all submissions must be in by 11:59pm CST on May 31st.
  • Expect a decision within four weeks
  • See full guidelines HERE

While we are brand new, we are offering monetary payment to those who we accept for publication. Stories that are between 1000-3000 words will receive $5. Stories that are longer than that will receive $10.  All contributors receive a hard copy of the magazine.

Submissions:

  • We accept submissions only by email.
  • Free to submit!
  • Please send your submission to submit [at] unfadingdaydream [dot] com with the title of ‘Unfading Daydream Submission’.

In penance for trying to change the status quo, John Stratton is tasked with building a program for training teenaged, enhanced assassins with AIs from the ground up. Project Maestro. His obedience wavers when one of the candidates hits a little too close to home. The fire is back. And this time he is determined to succeed.

Light Morrison accepts the offer from Project Maestro in hopes of finding a challenge. Everything is going well at first – he’s made friends with Aria and Jinto, the curriculum is difficult, and the new environment is doing him wonders. The true nature of Project Maestro is revealed and despite disliking what he’ll do, Light goes along with it. That is until he, Aria, and Jinto discover information that changes everything.

Opus Crescendo Release Party (and other Opus related things)

Hey all! There’s a lot of announcement posts this month. I guess it’s just that kind of month, huh? The big event that’s coming up is the Opus Crescendo Release Party! The event is FREE and ONLINE and lasts several hours. This means that you don’t have to be there the whole time. Stop in for a few minutes, or hang out the whole time. Either way, I appreciate your support!

So come check it out! March 29th from 4pm-12am. I might even go pop onto Twitch and play Overwatch while answering questions, write and answer questions, just have the webcam on, or any combination of those. I’ll also be reading some excerpts from the book!

Digital copies of Opus Crescendo are up for PRE-ORDER on both Amazon and Smashwords.

Giveaways will be done throughout the night and will include digital copies of my books and might include HARD copies of them and maybe even t-shirts from my Redbubble store. We shall see on that. But definitely digital copies of the books!
